The HERTEL 79891339 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine tool applications. Built with a straight flute geometry and straight cylindrical shank, it delivers consistent bore sizing with a reamer diameter of 8.00 mm (0.3150 inches) and a tight tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0003 inches. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With an overall length of 3.25 inches and a flute length of 1.125 inches, this reamer is sized for standard chucking setups on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes. Machinists and tool and die professionals install this part during precision bore finishing operations.
This chucking reamer is used in production and job-shop machining environments where dimensional accuracy in reamed holes is critical. The 6-flute straight design supports stable cutting action and smooth surface finish in through-hole and blind-hole applications. It is appropriate for use in both manual and CNC-controlled machine setups where a straight shank can be gripped in a drill chuck, collet, or toolholder. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Typical materials include aluminum, brass, cast iron, and mild steel, depending on speeds and feeds selected by the operator.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard machine tool setups requiring an 8.00 mm straight-shank reamer with a straight cylindrical shank profile.
This reamer is installed and operated by machinists in machine shop environments. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck, collet chuck, or toolholder before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits prior to cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the reamer. Do not use this tool for hole enlargement beyond its rated diameter or as a drill; pre-drill or bore the hole to the correct pre-ream size before use.
