The HERTEL 79890356 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream holes to precise tolerances in a machine tool setup. With a diameter of 13/32 inches (0.4062 inches decimal) and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0003 inches, this reamer delivers tight, repeatable hole sizing for applications where fit and finish are critical. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well-suited for through-hole and blind-hole finishing in a wide range of materials. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this reamer in drill press, lathe, or machining center setups where an accurate, smooth bore is required.
This chucking reamer is used in machine shop and production environments where dimensional accuracy in finished bores is essential. The bright uncoated solid carbide construction performs well in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, as well as plastics and composites. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into a drill chuck, collet, or boring head for a secure, concentric grip. With an overall length of 3-1/2 inches and a flute length of 1-1/4 inches, it is sized for standard short-to-medium depth reaming operations.
Designed as a machine-held chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and similar machine tool setups requiring a straight cylindrical shank and right-hand cut in the 13/32 inch bore diameter range.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck, collet, or tool holder rated for the spindle speed and material being cut before beginning any reaming operation. Always pre-drill or bore the hole to the appropriate undersized diameter before reaming — do not use this reamer as a primary drilling tool. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or adjusting tooling.
