The HERTEL 79889374 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a reamer diameter of 0.119 inches and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0002 inches, this tool delivers tight, repeatable hole sizing in a single pass. The 4-flute straight flute geometry and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other materials that benefit from a sharp, uncoated cutting edge. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a flute length of 0.625 inches. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, or machine spindles. Licensed machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, lathes, and manual milling machines where a floating or rigid reamer holder can be applied. It is suited for finish reaming holes in the 0.100 to 0.1499 inch diameter range. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Applications include precision bore finishing in production runs and toolroom work where close hole tolerances are required.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool capable of holding a straight cylindrical shank and rotating in the right-hand direction, including drill presses, CNC machining centers, and engine lathes.
A licensed machinist or toolroom technician should install this reamer in a properly sized chuck or collet to minimize runout before cutting. Power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing tooling. A reaming allowance of 0.001 to 0.005 inches is typical practice, but always verify the pre-drilled hole size against the specific material and application requirements. Do not force the reamer through an undersized hole or use it as a drill.
