The HERTEL 75987750 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN coating, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials with extended tool life. The coarse pitch, 3-flute geometry clears chips efficiently during heavy cuts, reducing heat buildup and chatter. At 1 inch in diameter with a 2-inch length of cut and 4.5-inch overall length, it fits standard milling chucks and collets on knee mills, machining centers, and manual mills. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This roughing end mill suits applications where stock removal rate matters more than finish quality. The coarse pitch flute geometry breaks up chips into smaller segments, which reduces cutting forces and allows higher feed rates compared to standard end mills. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups. It is well suited for roughing passes in steel, stainless, and high-temp alloys where tool wear is a concern. The TiCN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending intervals between tool changes in production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit roughing end mill for standard 1-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style shanks used in vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing any end mill. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts according to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each use; do not run a damaged end mill.
