The HERTEL 750671 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) cutting diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 5/16 inch shank diameter, giving it a compact profile suited for light profiling, slotting, and contouring work. The 2-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. This tool is uncoated and centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as standard peripheral cuts. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working on mills, machining centers, and manual knee mills.
This end mill is well suited for use in general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a smaller diameter tool is required. The 2-flute design provides adequate chip clearance when cutting softer materials such as aluminum, brass, and mild steel. The 30-degree fixed helix angle delivers a balance of cutting smoothness and rigidity. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and right-hand cutting direction, it fits standard ER and straight-bore collet systems commonly found on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. Single-end construction means the tool is replaced rather than flipped when worn.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style square end mill for use in any standard 5/16 inch collet or straight-bore tool holder on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills requiring a 17/64 inch diameter cutting tool.
This end mill is installed by machinists using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for a 5/16 inch shank. De-energize and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool in the holder, as excessive runout accelerates carbide chipping. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in holders with visible wear, damage, or inadequate clamping force.
