The HERTEL 750662 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, a matching 3/8 inch shank diameter, and a 3 inch overall length. The 2-flute geometry paired with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding cutting conditions. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry, adding versatility to its application range. Typical use cases include production machining environments where consistent tool life and repeatability are required. The right-hand cut orientation is standard for conventional CNC spindle direction.
Designed as a direct-mount end mill for any CNC machining center or manual vertical mill equipped with an ER, R8, or similar collet system accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and verify that spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
