The HERTEL 750658 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles hard materials and elevated cutting temperatures with consistent edge integrity. The 1/16 inch cutting diameter and 3/16 inch length of cut make it well suited for fine-detail work, slot milling, and profiling in tight geometries. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The 1/8 inch shank fits standard collets and tool holders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is used in precision machining applications where small-diameter cutting is required. Typical work materials include alloy steels, stainless steel, cast iron, hardened steels, and non-ferrous metals where the AlTiN coating provides heat and wear resistance. Right-hand cut geometry is standard for conventional CNC milling setups. It fits residential and commercial job-shop environments as well as production machining cells running light to moderate material removal passes at high spindle speeds typical for sub-1/8 inch diameter tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide end mills.
