The HERTEL 750526 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers tight tolerances and extended tool life compared to high-speed steel alternatives. It features 4 spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation. The centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral cuts. At 5/16 inch diameter with a 1-3/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this is a regular-length tool suited for general-purpose machining work performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills across job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate works well in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating compatibility or regrinding is a consideration. The 5/16 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders common in both R8 and CAT-style tooling systems. It is well suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge-milling applications at moderate to high spindle speeds.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with 5/16 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
