The HERTEL 750504 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, this stub-length end mill delivers improved wear resistance and thermal stability during cuts. It features a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, providing efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. With a mill diameter of 0.4375 inches, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length, it fits standard tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills alike. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and side milling operations on ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where a TiCN coating provides adequate lubricity and hardness. The stub-length geometry offers added rigidity compared to standard-length tools, reducing deflection in aggressive cuts. It is a direct fit for applications requiring a 7/16-inch shank in collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with conventional spindle rotation on most machining equipment.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for machining setups requiring a 7/16-inch diameter, 7/16-inch shank square end mill with a 4-flute stub-length configuration.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder to the specified grip depth and torque the set screw or collet nut according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting.
