The HERTEL 750502 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well-suited for deep-reach applications where rigidity and tool life are critical. The four-flute configuration with a 30-degree spiral helix provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish enhances surface hardness and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge operations in addition to peripheral and slot milling. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating manual or CNC milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers. It performs well in applications including side milling, slotting, profiling, and light plunging in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The 3/8 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling arbors of the same bore size.
Designed for use in standard milling machine collet systems and end mill holders with a 3/8 inch bore. Compatible with manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and horizontal milling setups that accept straight-shank end mills of this diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the holder manufacturer specifications before spindle engagement. Inspect the collet and holder for runout before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish. Never exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the material being machined.
