The HERTEL 750471 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this single-end mill is built for tight-tolerance work in small-profile cuts. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding production environments. This tool is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production settings.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, and profiles in ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium, and hardened alloys. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders sized for that bore. It is a single-end tool, meaning it is replaced rather than re-indexed when the cutting end is worn. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool compact, reducing deflection in precision cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or end mill holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the machine manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before running production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tooling.
