The HERTEL 750416 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 5/16 inch cutting diameter and a 1/2 inch length of cut, this tool removes material efficiently in profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling applications. The four-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and improves surface finish. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in production environments. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding versatility to the tool path.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines used in job shops, toolrooms, and maintenance machining operations. It is appropriate for milling aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar machinable alloys. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional milling spindles. The 2 inch overall length and 5/16 inch shank diameter are sized for standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty machining setups.
Designed as a standard replacement or stock solid carbide square end mill for use in ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and similar toolholding systems accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout tolerances. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in an energy-isolated state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
