The HERTEL 750354 is a square-end, single-end end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it carries a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating that raises surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. At 5/8 inch in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle, this stub-length mill delivers rigid, chatter-resistant cutting in shallow-to-moderate pocket, slot, and peripheral milling applications. It is installed and run by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC mill operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 750354 is suited to machining centers and manual knee mills where a 5/8-inch straight shank holder is used. Its stub-length geometry reduces overhang for improved rigidity when milling steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes are standard, making this mill a drop-in fit for conventional RH spindle setups. Overall length is 3 inches, keeping the tool compact and stiff in the spindle.
Designed as a standard 5/8-inch shank end mill compatible with any machining center, CNC vertical mill, or manual knee mill equipped with a 5/8-inch end mill holder, collet chuck, or milling chuck of matching bore diameter.
Install in a clean, matched-bore end mill holder or precision collet and torque the retention screw or nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the shank and holder bore for chips or damage before seating the tool. Always bring spindle to a full stop before changing tooling and verify runout with a dial indicator after installation. Speeds and feeds should be set per the workpiece material and machine rigidity — do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer recommended overhang for this shank diameter.
