The HERTEL 750327 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1 inch cutting diameter and a 3 inch length of cut, this tool handles deep slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where reach and rigidity are critical. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces, making this end mill well suited for production environments where tool longevity and surface finish consistency matter.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as CNC milling machines equipped with an ER or CAT toolholder accepting a 1 inch shank. The extra-long overall length of 5.5 inches makes it appropriate for cavities, molds, and fixtures requiring extended reach that standard-length end mills cannot access. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follows conventional milling machine spindle orientation. The centercutting design allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot cuts, adding versatility to the tool's application range. This tool is typically specified by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with spindle toolholding systems that accept a 1 inch straight shank, such as ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut, as this is a right-hand tool.
