The HERTEL 750298 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. The TiN (titanium nitride) finish increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous cutting applications. With a matching 0.5-inch shank diameter and a 2.5-inch overall length, this end mill fits standard milling chucks and collet holders used in CNC and manual milling machines. Machinists and tooling technicians use this tool for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for use in job shops, production machining cells, and tool rooms running CNC machining centers or knee mills. Its centercutting geometry allows it to plunge directly into material, adding flexibility for pocketing and ramping operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups. With a 30-degree helix, it balances chip evacuation and cutting force across a range of workpiece materials including mild steel, alloy steel, aluminum, and engineering plastics.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with standard 0.5-inch collets or milling chucks.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety protocols. Seat the shank fully into the collet or chuck and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut of 1 inch to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
