The HERTEL 750297 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. The tool features a 0.375-inch cutting diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length with a matching 0.375-inch shank diameter. The 4-flute, 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge cuts in addition to peripheral milling. It is sold as a single unit and suits professionals who require consistent, close-tolerance results in production or maintenance machining.
The HERTEL 750297 is suited for a broad range of milling applications including slotting, profiling, and contouring on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is commonly used in job shops, tool rooms, and industrial maintenance settings where a reliable, general-purpose carbide end mill is needed. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for use in conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The 30-degree helix angle provides a good balance between cutting aggressiveness and edge strength across a variety of workpiece materials.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collets, and milling chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die professionals familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder per the machine manufacturer's specifications. Verify spindle RPM and feed rate are set to values appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut.
