The HERTEL 750292 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) finish, it delivers increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated tooling. The 0.5-inch diameter cutter features a 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry and a stub-length configuration, with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. Centercutting capability allows for plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This tool is intended for installation and use by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, or toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, profiling, and plunge operations on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub length reduces overhang, improving rigidity and surface finish in demanding cuts. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles commonly found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The TiCN coating is particularly effective when cutting alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and hardened materials at elevated cutting speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard 1/2-inch shank milling chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Before changing tooling, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the power is locked out per standard shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before torquing set screws or collet nuts. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool if edge wear is visible.
