The HERTEL 750288 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter with a 1/4 inch length of cut and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The four-flute, spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hard material cuts. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention. This stub-length end mill is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous metals, alloys, and hardened materials where heat generation is a concern. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in programming and fixturing. The stub length designation provides added rigidity compared to standard or long-reach configurations, making it appropriate for applications where chatter control and dimensional accuracy are priorities. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder systems on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by machinists using a compatible 1/8 inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or end mill holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, as runout on small-diameter carbide end mills accelerates breakage. Follow shop-specific feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
