The HERTEL 750227 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. With a 3/4 inch cutting diameter and a 3 inch length of cut, this tool handles deep-pocket milling and slotting operations where standard-length end mills fall short. The AlTiN coating extends tool life at elevated temperatures, making it a reliable choice for hardened steels and stainless alloys. The micrograin carbide substrate and 30-degree helix provide a balance of edge strength and chip evacuation. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
This extra-long end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where deep-cavity milling, profiling, and slotting require extended reach without sacrificing rigidity. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, giving maximum tool body stiffness over the 6 inch overall length. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Right-hand flute direction is standard for conventional and climb milling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/4 inch ER, CAT, BT, HSK, and side-lock tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills with appropriate collet or chuck systems.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Seat the shank fully in the tool holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the retention mechanism according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the collet or chuck bore for runout before tightening; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces surface finish quality. Use appropriate cutting fluid or air blast as required by the workpiece material and depth of cut.
