The HERTEL 750216 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials at demanding feed rates. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. At 5/8 inch in diameter with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length, the 750216 is sized for standard milling applications in production shops and tool rooms. Installation and use are handled by machinists and CNC operators.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys where AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier advantage. The 4-flute configuration balances material removal rate with chip evacuation. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduced chatter during full-slot and side-milling passes. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole, giving machinists added flexibility in toolpath programming.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard 5/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at a complete stop before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque retention screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to confirm proper seating and avoid premature tool wear.
