The HERTEL 750120 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 5/8-inch cutting diameter and a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on a wide range of workpiece materials. The 5/8-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The two-flute, spiral-flute geometry with centercutting capability allows both plunge and ramp entry. The tool ships uncoated and in right-hand cut orientation with a 5-inch overall length.
This end mill is suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments where a general-purpose solid carbide tool is required. The centercutting design makes it practical for full-slot plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Two-flute geometry is preferred when machining softer metals, aluminum alloys, and non-ferrous materials where chip clearance is a priority. The 5/8-inch shank fits standard CAT, BT, HSK, and straight-bore toolholders of the same bore size. No chipbreaker geometry means it is best suited for conventional finishing and semi-finishing passes rather than heavy roughing.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders with a 5/8-inch bore. Compatible with vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual knee mills equipped with the appropriate toolholding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the toolholder minimum grip length to prevent pullout under load. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
