The HERTEL 750085 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 2-flute spiral configuration, this tool delivers clean, accurate cuts in a wide range of workpiece materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the centercutting geometry allows for plunge milling entries. The uncoated solid carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance in demanding machining environments. Machinists and toolroom operators select this end mill for its consistent dimensional accuracy and versatility across multiple cutting strategies.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling equipment where a 0.5 inch shank tool holder is available. The 6 inch overall length accommodates setups requiring extended reach while maintaining sufficient tool rigidity for productive material removal. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation, and the spiral flute geometry handles both conventional and climb milling approaches.
Designed for use in any milling machine or machining center accepting a 0.5 inch shank end mill, including standard ER and R8 collet systems and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders sized for 0.5 inch shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully within the collet or toolholder to the minimum recommended grip length and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
