The HERTEL 750021 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. The tool features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. Two spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance work. This is a right-hand cut, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as cut along the side. Machinists and toolroom operators install this style of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for light to medium material removal in general machining applications. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet systems at that size. Its centercutting capability supports slotting, pocketing, and plunge-entry moves without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The compact 2 inch overall length provides added rigidity in short-reach setups, reducing deflection during interrupted or side-load cuts. Job shops, tool and die operations, and maintenance machinists working with small-diameter features will find this tool appropriate for their applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard collet systems accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter, including ER-series and DA-series collet chucks commonly used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut to the collet manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
