The HERTEL 74149071 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for demanding metal cutting applications. Built from solid carbide grade C2, it delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed when drilling cast iron, nickel alloy, stainless steel, titanium alloy, and tool steel. The bit measures 0.5000 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3.75 inches and a flute length of 2.25 inches. A 135-degree split point reduces walking at startup and lowers thrust requirements compared to conventional 118-degree points. The bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where coating adhesion or contamination is a concern. Two spiral flutes with a slow helix and web-thinned, parallel web construction support chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine materials.
