The HERTEL 74132325 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built from cobalt tool steel and finished with a TiAlN coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding production environments. It carries a No. 35 wire gauge designation, equivalent to 0.1100 inches (7/64 inches), with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and improves centering at drill entry. The overall length is 1.875 inches, making it well suited for short-reach, high-cycle drilling applications. Licensed tradespeople and machinist technicians working in fabrication, HVAC, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel work rely on screw machine bits for faster chip clearance and tighter tolerances in metal substrates.
This bit is intended for use in metalworking and trade applications where a short, rigid drill bit is preferred over jobber length. Its right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute design work with standard drill presses, CNC machines, and handheld power tools. The web-thinned parallel web configuration reduces thrust load during entry, which is especially useful when drilling mild steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous materials in production or field conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitution screw machine length drill bit for standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools accepting No. 35 wire gauge bits.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key removal prior to powering the tool. Eye protection and appropriate chip guarding should be in place per applicable OSHA and shop-safety standards. Do not exceed the recommended speed-and-feed range for the workpiece material or attempt to use this bit as a reamer or punch.
