The HERTEL 74132119 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-speed, close-tolerance drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) coating, it delivers extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials including stainless steel, cast iron, and high-alloy steels. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and decreases thrust force at entry, allowing faster starts without a center punch on most materials. Overall length is 2-3/16 inches with a flute length of 1-1/8 inches, making it well suited for screw machine and short-reach drilling setups. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters.
This bit is used in production drilling, job shop machining, and maintenance-repair operations where tool life and hole quality in tough materials are priorities. The screw machine length format - shorter than jobber length - provides greater rigidity and reduced deflection, especially when drilling stainless steel, hardened alloys, or other work-hardening materials.
