The HERTEL 72033384 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal components. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent bore sizing in production and job-shop environments. It features a 0.3380-inch reaming diameter, a 6-inch overall length, and a 1.5-inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. With six flutes cutting in a right-hand direction, the tool provides smooth material removal and accurate final hole diameters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this style of reamer for achieving tight dimensional tolerances on through-holes and blind bores.
This chucking reamer is suited for use on manual lathes, drill presses, CNC turning centers, and machining centers handling ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is appropriate for light finishing passes where hole geometry and surface finish are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank allows secure clamping in a range of workholding setups without specialized tooling. Typical applications include production runs requiring repeatable hole sizing and rework operations correcting undersized drilled holes.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and floating reamer holders across manual and CNC machine tool platforms.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists following standard machine tool safety practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before securing or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Always use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the specified surface finish. Do not use this reamer as a drill; material must be pre-drilled or bored to within a few thousandths of the final diameter before reaming.
