The HERTEL 72013402 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers accurate sizing on through-holes and blind holes in a wide range of workpiece materials. It measures 0.1340 inches in diameter with an overall length of 3-1/2 inches and a 7/8-inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With 4 flutes and right-hand cutting direction, it produces a clean, consistent finish suitable for tight-tolerance reaming work performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This chucking reamer is suited for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, lathes, and manual milling machines where a pre-drilled hole requires finishing to a precise diameter. The 0.1340-inch diameter falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1499 inch range, making it appropriate for small-bore finish reaming tasks common in light manufacturing, instrument machining, and precision component work. It is sold individually and is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under size reamer.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool equipped to accept a straight-cylindrical shank, including drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and milling machines requiring small-diameter hole finishing.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists in accordance with standard shop practices. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify the machine spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Always ream at appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material — running a reamer too fast or without cutting fluid can damage the cutting edges and compromise hole finish. Inspect the reamer for chipping or wear before each use.
