The HERTEL 72010101 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent sizing accuracy when used in drill presses, lathes, or CNC equipment. It features a 0.1010-inch cutting diameter, a straight-cylindrical shank for secure chuck clamping, and a right-hand cutting direction. With 4 straight flutes and a flute length of 0.875 inches, it removes minimal stock while producing smooth, close-tolerance bores. Overall length is 3.5 inches. The part weighs 0.15 pounds.
This reamer is suited for general-purpose finish reaming of small-diameter holes in steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar machinable materials. It falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1499-inch diameter range class and is a standard tool for tool-and-die shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where precise bore sizing is required. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary users.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machines equipped with a chuck or collet sized to accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.1010-inch diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists familiar with standard machine tool practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve bore finish. Feed rate and spindle speed should follow standard HSS reamer parameters for the material being machined — excessive feed pressure or speed can cause chatter or oversize the bore.
