The HERTEL 72006109 is a chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and other machinable materials. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it is built for general-purpose reaming where close tolerances are required. The reamer features a 0.0610-inch diameter cutting profile, a straight flute design, and a straight-cylindrical shank that seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a flute length of 0.5 inches, this tool is sized for small-diameter bore finishing in a variety of production and maintenance environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This reamer is suited for finishing small drilled holes to precise diameter tolerances in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional right-hand spindle operation on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Its compact flute length makes it appropriate for shallow-hole applications where a short cutting engagement is needed. This tool falls within the 0.0500 to 0.0999-inch reamer diameter range, making it a standard selection for close-tolerance work in that size class.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, manual mills, and CNC machining centers equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of holding a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.0610-inch diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a clean, properly sized chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Always reduce spindle speed relative to drilling and apply a suitable cutting fluid to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Inspect the reamer for chipping or wear before each use and do not force the tool through undersized or hardened material.
