The HERTEL 71206510 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. Built from high speed steel with an oxide coating for added lubricity and corrosion resistance, this bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling applications. It carries a wire gauge size of 34, equal to 0.1110 inches in decimal. The standard 118-degree split point geometry and web-thinned tip reduce walking on entry and lower feed force. Two spiral flutes channel chips out of the bore cleanly during the cut. This bit is sold individually and is sized for hand drill, drill press, and benchtop machine use by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and general maintenance trades.
This drill bit fits residential and commercial maintenance applications where consistent small-diameter through-holes are required. Common uses include pilot holes, sheet metal perforation, and fixture work on light structural components. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard three-jaw drill chucks without adapters. With a 2.625-inch overall length and 1.5-inch flute length, it provides adequate reach for most light-gauge and medium-gauge stock without flex. Electricians and pipefitters frequently use wire-gauge bits in this size range for conduit knockouts, junction box work, and bracket fastening.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 0.1110-inch straight cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should verify chuck capacity before seating this bit in any rotary tool or drill press. Secure the workpiece with a vise or clamp before drilling to prevent rotation. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable workplace safety codes for rotating machinery. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed range for the base material being drilled.
