The HERTEL 7000484 is a right-hand indexable boring bar built for precision internal turning operations on machining centers and CNC lathes. Constructed from solid carbide, this boring bar features a 0.6 inch minimum bore diameter and a 3 inch maximum bore depth, making it well suited for tight-tolerance bore finishing and semi-finishing work. The 1/2 inch shank diameter and 8 inch overall length give the tool a rigid, predictable setup profile. Through-coolant capability, with a 0.1870 inch coolant hole diameter, supports chip evacuation and thermal control at the cutting zone. Insert retention is via screw clamping for repeatable indexing. Compatible inserts follow the TP.. 21.51 designation within the E08STLPR2 toolholder style series.
This boring bar is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where consistent bore geometry is required. It is a single-use boring application tool, not a multi-use holder, and is designed to be installed in machines equipped with 1/2 inch shank tool holding systems. The E series designation and solid carbide body make it appropriate for harder workpiece materials and applications where deflection must be minimized. A back-of-bar to cutting edge distance of 0.3120 inch supports close-clearance boring passes. Machinists and CNC programmers working with small-diameter bores will find the 0.2500 inch minimum bore diameter using a triangle insert cartridge a useful secondary capability for lighter stock removal passes.
Designed for use with TP.. 21.51 series inserts in the E08STLPR2 toolholder style. Fits machines with a 1/2 inch shank bore tool holding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out condition before any tool change. Confirm shank clamping torque meets your machine tool manufacturer specifications before running. Verify coolant line connection and flow rate at the spindle interface prior to first use. Do not exceed the rated bore depth or minimum bore diameter for the installed insert geometry.
