The HERTEL 7000415 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built to the A10SCFPR2 toolholder style, it accepts CP.. 21.5 series inserts secured by screw-style clamping. The bar measures 10 inches overall length with a 5/8-inch shank diameter and handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.77 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1-7/8 inches. Through-coolant capability is integrated, fed through a 1/8-27 NPT coolant hole, keeping cutting temperatures down and extending insert life in demanding materials. The steel construction provides rigidity suitable for tight-tolerance finish boring applications.
This boring bar is suited for job shops, production machining facilities, and toolroom applications requiring consistent bore geometry in small-diameter workpieces. The A10SCFPR2 toolholder style is a standard designation in indexable boring system configurations, making this bar a straightforward fit into existing CNC lathe turrets equipped with compatible 5/8-inch shank pockets. It is installed and managed by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel working with internal diameter operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Accepts CP.. 21.5 series indexable inserts. Toolholder style is A10SCFPR2. Minimum bore diameter using a diamond insert cartridge is 0.25 inches. Designed for use in CNC lathe turrets and machining center boring heads accommodating a 5/8-inch shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom personnel. Before mounting or indexing inserts, confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an E-stop or locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Torque the insert clamping screw to the insert manufacturer specification and verify through-coolant line connection before initiating a cutting cycle. Confirm shank clamping torque meets the toolholder manufacturer specification for the given turret or block style.
