The HERTEL 7000414 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for precision internal machining operations. Built on the A08SCFPR2 toolholder style, it accepts CP.. 21.51 series inserts held in place by a screw-clamp method, providing repeatable insert indexing and secure cutting forces during operation. The bar features a through-coolant design with a 1/16-27 NPT coolant hole thread, keeping the cutting zone clear of chips and reducing thermal buildup at depth. The shank diameter is 0.5 inches and the overall length is 8 inches, making it a compact but capable tool for tight-reach boring work. The tool body is constructed from steel.
This boring bar is suited for machining shops and job shops performing internal diameter boring on CNC lathes or boring mills. It covers a minimum bore diameter of 0.6 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, with an extended minimum bore diameter capability of 0.25 inches when using a diamond insert cartridge. It is intended for use in production and toolroom environments where consistent dimensional accuracy in bored features is required. The Series A designation places it within a standardized toolholder family common in metalcutting operations.
Compatible with CP.. 21.51 series indexable inserts. Toolholder style is A08SCFPR2. Designed as an OEM-style toolholder for use in standard 0.5-inch shank boring bar setups on CNC lathes or boring mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in the tool turret or boring head and verify that the shank is clamped to the correct overhang to minimize deflection. Confirm the coolant line connection at the 1/16-27 NPT port is leak-free before running the spindle. Replace or index the insert before reinstalling if the cutting edge shows wear, and confirm insert seating before resuming cuts.
