The HERTEL 7000007 is a right-hand A-CTFP indexable boring bar designed for internal diameter machining in metal-cutting applications. Built from steel with a 1-inch shank diameter and 12-inch overall length, this boring bar accepts TP-style inserts held by a clamp-style insert holding method. It features a positive rake geometry with a 5-degree rake angle and a 0-degree lead angle, producing predictable cutting action on a variety of bore diameters starting at 1.2 inches minimum. Through-coolant capability is supported via a 1/4-18 NPT coolant hole thread, keeping cutting temperatures in check during sustained boring operations. Machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments are the primary users.
This boring bar suits CNC lathe and boring mill setups where precision internal diameter work is required. The 1.2-inch minimum bore diameter makes it appropriate for medium-bore applications in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The through-coolant design extends insert life and improves chip evacuation in deep-bore passes. The A-CTFP toolholder style is a recognized geometry class used across a range of horizontal and vertical machining setups. Operators configuring toolholders for repetitive production runs will benefit from the consistent insert indexing provided by the clamp holding method.
Accepts TP-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/8-inch insert thickness. The manufacturer cross-reference number A16CTFPR/L3 may be used to confirm fitment with compatible insert grades and geometries.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with lathe and boring mill setup procedures. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder or turret to the specified grip depth before operation. Ensure the coolant supply connection at the 1/4-18 NPT port is properly sealed and that system pressure is within the machine tool specification before engaging the coolant circuit. Always index or replace inserts with the machine powered down and the spindle locked.
