The HERTEL 4599775 is a chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise 3.00mm (0.1181 inch) diameter. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers the hardness and heat resistance needed for accurate hole sizing in ferrous and tough alloy materials. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it suitable for through-holes and blind holes where chip control is straightforward. With an overall length of 3.5 inches and a flute length of 0.875 inches, it fits standard drill press chucks and CNC machine tool holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of reamer to achieve tight dimensional tolerances in production and maintenance environments.
This chucking reamer is applied in machine shop operations where a drilled hole must be brought to a close-tolerance finish diameter. Typical applications include fixture fabrication, precision assembly work, and production machining of small-bore holes in metal components. The straight-cylindrical shank allows secure grip in collet chucks, drill chucks, and floating reamer holders on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. It is suited to light-duty finishing passes at appropriate feed and speed for the workpiece material.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, manual mills, and CNC machining centers equipped with collet or drill chuck tooling capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists following standard machining practices. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth to prevent runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Never use a reamer to remove more stock than it is rated to finish — pre-drill or bore the hole to the correct pre-ream diameter before use.
