The HERTEL 45676699 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.4110 inches and an overall length of 3-1/2 inches, it is built to deliver tight-tolerance bore sizing in production and job-shop environments. The six-flute, straight-flute geometry provides smooth cutting action and accurate finish on pre-drilled or bored holes. The bright, uncoated carbide construction offers rigidity and dimensional stability across a range of workpiece materials. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC machining centers, manual lathes, or drill presses equipped with a chuck.
This chucking reamer is suited for finish-reaming operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where hole diameter consistency and surface finish are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks or collet holders. With a flute length of 1-1/4 inches, it is appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming passes in production drilling fixtures or manual setups. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes requiring a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.4110 inch diameter class.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing or inspecting tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet holder to the tool manufacturer's recommended grip depth before running. Verify workpiece hole preparation meets recommended pre-ream stock allowance for the target diameter before use.
