The HERTEL 45676046 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.317 inches and a bright polished finish, it is built for accurate, repeatable sizing of drilled or bored holes. The straight shank design seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Six right-hand straight flutes deliver smooth, consistent cutting action across a range of workpiece materials. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 1.25-inch flute length, this reamer is suited for through-holes and blind holes in moderate-depth applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on solid carbide reamers for their rigidity and wear resistance in production environments.
This chucking reamer is used in machine shop and production machining contexts where close-tolerance hole finishing is required. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where a straight-shank tool can be gripped by a drill chuck or end mill holder. Typical applications include finishing reamed holes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and similar machinable materials. The bright polished finish reduces built-up edge and is well suited for non-ferrous materials such as aluminum and brass as well as general-purpose steel applications.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer suitable for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks, collet holders, and similar machine tool holders used in CNC and manual machining operations.
Installation and use of this reamer should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with reaming operations and machine tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before mounting or removing the tool from its holder. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck to prevent slippage during operation. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the desired surface finish.
