The HERTEL 45675683 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machined components. With a 0.268 inch diameter, 6 straight flutes, and a bright polished finish, it delivers accurate, smooth bore sizing in a wide range of workpiece materials. The straight shank mounts directly in a drill chuck or collet, and right-hand cutting direction suits standard CNC and manual machine spindle rotation. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 1.125 inch flute length, this reamer is suited for short to medium-depth through-holes and blind holes where dimensional accuracy is required. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer to bring drilled or bored holes to final tolerance.
This reamer fits standard production and job-shop machining environments where close-tolerance hole sizing is needed. It is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses with adequate speed and feed control. The solid carbide construction supports use in harder workpiece materials and applications that demand longer tool life over high-speed steel alternatives. It is sold and packaged individually, making it suitable for single-station tooling setups or replacement purchases.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses equipped with a chuck or collet capable of accepting a straight shank in the 0.250 to 0.299 inch diameter class.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with reamer speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid requirements for solid carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before loading or removing the reamer. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to prevent heat buildup and premature tool wear. Do not use a reamer to remove excessive stock — pre-drill or bore holes to within a few thousandths of final diameter before reaming.
