The HERTEL 45675592 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in a wide range of materials. Built with a 0.2525-inch diameter and a straight shank, this reamer delivers accurate, repeatable sizing in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting geometry produces a clean finish bore with minimal material removal per pass. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, it is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming applications. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on the bright polished finish to reduce friction and aid chip evacuation during operation.
This chucking reamer is used in precision machining environments where hole tolerance and surface finish are critical. Typical applications include fixture and jig work, bearing and bushing seat finishing, and dowel pin hole preparation in metal components. The straight shank accepts standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it compatible with common machine tooling setups found in production and job shop environments. It is appropriate for use on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials when proper cutting speeds and feeds are observed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for straight-shank chucking reamer applications in CNC and manual machine tool setups requiring a 0.2525-inch finished bore diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with reamer speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid requirements for the workpiece material. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder to minimize runout before engaging the workpiece. Never use a chucking reamer to remove excessive stock — drilling to near-final size before reaming is standard practice. Always disengage spindle power and allow the tool to come to a complete stop before measuring or adjusting.
