The HERTEL 45675329 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built with a straight shank and four straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction, it produces accurate, smooth bores to tight tolerances. The 0.218-inch diameter falls within the 0.2000 to 0.2499-inch decimal inch range, making it a practical choice for finishing drilled holes to a specific size. The bright polished finish reduces friction and helps evacuate chips cleanly. Solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for consistent results in production and repair environments. This reamer is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using standard drill press, milling machine, or CNC equipment setups.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where hole diameter and surface finish accuracy are critical. The straight flute geometry makes it appropriate for through-hole reaming in materials that produce short, easily broken chips. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, it fits standard chucks and collet holders without extended reach adapters in most bench and machine tool setups. Typical applications include fixture work, close-tolerance pin and dowel holes, and component repair where an existing bore must be brought to a precise final diameter.
Designed as a standard straight-shank chucking reamer compatible with drill press chucks, milling machine collet holders, and CNC tool holders accepting straight-shank tooling in the appropriate diameter range.
This reamer is installed and operated by machinists using standard chucking equipment. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before use and verify runout is within acceptable limits to protect the cutting edges. Always pre-drill or bore the hole close to final size before reaming, and apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material. Inspect cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and should not be forced into an undersized or misaligned hole.
