The HERTEL 45674876 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.1605 inches and a bright polished finish, it delivers tight tolerances and smooth surface finishes in drilled bores. The 4-flute, straight-flute geometry with right-hand cutting direction provides stable, accurate material removal. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 0.875-inch flute length, this compact reamer suits close-quarter setups and standard CNC or manual drill press operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on solid carbide construction for its rigidity, wear resistance, and dimensional repeatability across production runs.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where close-tolerance bore diameters are required. The straight shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, or floating reamer holders used on machining centers, lathes, and drill presses. It is appropriate for both job-shop and production environments where repeatable, smooth bores in the 0.1500 to 0.1999 inch diameter range are needed.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet chuck systems on CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill presses requiring a 0.1605-inch finished bore diameter.
Chucking reamers are installed by qualified machinists; ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to prevent runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Never attempt to use a reamer to enlarge a hole by more than a few thousandths of an inch beyond the drilled pilot bore.
