The HERTEL 4140133 is a No. 19 wire gauge cobalt jobber drill bit engineered for heavy-duty holemaking in ferrous metals, stainless steel, and hardened materials. The bit measures 0.1660 inches in diameter with a 3.25-inch overall length and a 2.125-inch flute length. It features a 135-degree split point for self-centering entry with reduced walking, and a TiAlN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting applications. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters. This bit is suited for machinists, pipefitters, and general trade professionals who drill through tough base metals regularly.
This jobber drill is designed for production and maintenance holemaking in metal fabrication, mechanical contracting, and industrial service environments. The regular spiral flute and web-thinned, tapered web geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce thrust load during drilling. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and handheld drilling operations. It is appropriate for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills with a compatible chuck.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit for use in any drill press, CNC machine, or handheld power drill accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.1660 inch diameter. Fits within the 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch decimal inch drill bit size range of compatible chuck sets and drill indexes.
Install in a properly sized three-jaw or keyless chuck, tightening securely before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being drilled to reduce heat buildup, even though this bit does not support through-coolant. Verify drill speed settings match the workpiece material and bit diameter per standard machining reference charts. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace or resharpen when the point shows signs of wear to avoid work hardening the base material.
