The HERTEL 41120544 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance needed for cutting tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/4 inch diameter cutter carries 4 flutes with a right-hand cutting and flute direction, and the bright uncoated finish keeps it ready for use straight out of the package. With a 1.625 inch length of cut and a 3.75 inch overall length, this is a standard regular-length tool suited to a wide range of machining setups. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the application.
This roughing end mill is used in manual and CNC milling machines for hogging out material quickly before finishing passes. The coarse tooth geometry reduces cutting forces and helps clear chips efficiently, making it a practical choice for slotting, pocketing, and peripheral roughing operations in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter, allowing it to seat directly in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, or milling machine spindles without an adapter. It is a common production tool for machinist shops and maintenance facilities performing metalwork.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify workpiece fixturing is secure before initiating a cut.
