The HERTEL 336-008590 is a solid carbide countersink designed for creating clean, precise chamfered seat profiles in metal and other hard materials. With a 3/4 inch head diameter and a 120-degree included angle, this tool produces consistently accurate countersunk holes for flathead fasteners and deburring operations. The six-flute configuration provides a smooth cutting action and reduces chatter, making it well suited for production and job-shop environments alike. The 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders found on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines.
This countersink is appropriate for use in metalworking, fabrication, and machining applications where a 120-degree seat angle is required. It is commonly deployed in manufacturing facilities, tool rooms, and maintenance shops handling steel, aluminum, and similarly machinable materials. Machinists and tooling technicians will find it compatible with standard 1/2 inch toolholding systems on both manual and CNC equipment.
Designed for use in any drill press, CNC machining center, or milling machine equipped with a 1/2 inch straight-shank toolholder or collet system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully into the collet or chuck before operation, and verify runout with an indicator if tight tolerances are required. Ensure the spindle is at a complete stop before changing or adjusting the tool. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for appropriate feed rates and spindle speeds based on material type.
