The HERTEL 336-004060 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering and seat preparation in metal and composite materials. Built with a 5/16-inch head diameter and an 82-degree included angle, it produces clean, accurate countersunk holes suited to flathead fastener applications. The six-flute geometry delivers smooth cutting action and reduces chatter, making it well-suited for production and maintenance work. The straight cylindrical 1/4-inch shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 0.2 pounds, the tool is lightweight and easy to handle in benchtop or portable drill press setups. No pilot is included, and the end type is single.
This countersink is intended for use in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic. It suits fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments where consistent countersink geometry is required across a range of fastener holes. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is appropriate for dry cutting or light lubrication on harder materials. Machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople will find it effective in both CNC and manual drilling operations.
Designed for countersinking operations in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic with any drill press, milling machine, or handheld drill accepting a 1/4-inch straight shank tool.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, or maintenance technicians using standard drill presses, mills, or portable drills. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation and confirm the spindle is at a complete stop before tool changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid or dry-cut as required by the material being machined. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection.
