The HERTEL 331-201080 is a single-flute carbide countersink designed for producing clean, accurate countersunk holes in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/8 inch head diameter and a 100-degree included angle, this tool is sized for small-diameter fastener seating work. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch, making it compatible with standard collets and small drill chucks. Carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The single-flute geometry reduces chatter and produces a smooth surface finish on the countersink seat.
This countersink is used in precision machining, tool-and-die work, and light production environments where small fastener recessing is required. It is appropriate for use on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and benchtop drill presses. The 100-degree included angle accommodates flat-head screws and fasteners ground to that specification. Machinists, tool room technicians, and production floor operators are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as a direct-fit countersink for use in any machine spindle or collet system accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication for the workpiece material. Follow shop safety practices and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements when operating rotary cutting tools.
