The HERTEL 331-010080 is a single-flute solid carbide countersink designed for precision countersinking operations in metalworking and fabrication applications. With a 1 inch head diameter, a 100-degree included angle, and a 50-degree centerline angle, this tool produces clean, accurately angled seat profiles for fastener heads. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, allowing secure chuck engagement in standard drilling equipment. Solid carbide construction delivers extended tool life and consistent cutting geometry under demanding conditions. A licensed machinist or toolroom professional typically selects and installs this tool.
This countersink is suited for use on alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic workpieces. It is appropriate for both production shop and maintenance environments where precise fastener seat preparation is required. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Single-end design means the tool is replaced rather than indexed when worn. It does not include a pilot, so true positioning relies on center-punching or pilot hole alignment prior to countersinking.
Rated for use on alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic. Designed as a straight-shank countersink for use in conventional drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills with 0.5 inch or larger chuck capacity.
Installation and use of this countersink should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the 0.5 inch straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely to prevent movement during the countersinking operation. Do not exceed the recommended RPM range for the workpiece material, and inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use.
