The HERTEL 30209350 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit sized to No. 42 wire gauge (0.0935 inches decimal, 2.37 mm). It features a 130-degree split-point tip and a fast spiral flute geometry with a 35-degree helix angle, producing clean, accurate entry holes in printed circuit board material and a wide range of metallic substrates. The tapered web configuration reduces walking at entry and improves chip evacuation in tight-tolerance drilling applications. A bright polished finish limits built-up edge on non-ferrous and hard materials. The 1/8-inch round shank seats in standard drill chucks and high-speed PCB drilling spindles alike. Installed by machinists, electronics assembly technicians, and precision fabricators.
This bit is suited for light-duty precision drilling in circuit board fabrication, prototype assembly, and small-hole metalworking operations. Its solid carbide construction handles demanding materials including alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. The short 3/8-inch flute length and 1-1/2-inch overall length make it appropriate for benchtop drill presses, CNC drilling centers, and hand-held high-speed rotary tools where rigidity and runout control are critical to hole quality.
Designed for use in materials including alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. Compatible with any drill chuck or spindle accepting a 1/8-inch round shank.
Solid carbide drill bits should be installed in a balanced, runout-free chuck or collet to protect the cutting edge and maintain hole tolerance. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling; carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage from lateral shock or workpiece movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid or air blast for chip clearance when drilling metals. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and replace bits showing chipping or wear to maintain hole-size accuracy.
