The HERTEL 30025000 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit sized at Letter E (0.2500 inches), designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and related light-manufacturing applications. The bit features a 118-degree drill point angle, a fast spiral flute configuration with a 35-degree helix angle, and a bright polished finish. The shank diameter matches the drill diameter at 1/4 inch (6.35 mm), making it compatible with standard 1/4-inch collet chucks and drill press setups. Right-hand cutting direction and a tapered web configuration contribute to efficient chip evacuation and accurate hole entry. Solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required when drilling abrasive substrates repeatedly.
This bit is suited for production and repair environments where clean, accurate holes are needed in circuit board materials, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and plastics. Typical use cases include PCB shops, prototype assembly benches, light machining operations, and precision fabrication work where a Letter E diameter is specified. The fast spiral geometry helps clear chips quickly in shallow-depth drilling passes, which is common in board drilling applications.
Designed for use in standard 1/4-inch collet chucks and drill press spindles. Rated for drilling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and plastics. Fits any machine tool accepting a 1/4-inch straight shank.
This bit is installed by a machinist or skilled fabricator into a collet chuck or drill press rated for 1/4-inch straight-shank tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is properly seated and tightened before beginning any drilling operation. Use appropriate workholding to secure the workpiece and prevent movement during drilling. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the material being drilled, and inspect the bit for wear or chipping before each use.
